Say it with flowers.

If you’ve ever gotten a flower delivery, you know the feeling when they arrive. It says, “I was on someone’s mind today.”

Well our friends over at Virginia MOCA thought TAO could use that kind of love – which is why they sent us THOUSANDS of flowers last week.

And you know how TAO does. We #payitforward. To the residents of the Citadel in Virginia Beach to be exact.

New TAO artist and Master Gardener Del White arranged the florals into 100 bouquets in 24 hours. The 757 Creative ReUse Center hooked us up with the vases. And The Muse Writers Center instructor Kelly Sokol wrote a lovely letter with words of encouragements, thoughts about spring, and writing prompts in case the recipients were the journaling type. (Show us an artist and we’ll show you some amazing collaborators. #teamworkmakesthedreamwork)

Sometimes our partners are up for Zoom. And sometimes the #zoomfatigue is real. TAO is committed to delivering an arts experience to the older adults in this region no matter how it needs to get done. Programming may look very different now – but sometimes it turns out to be a very fun, very effective kind of different. Thank you as always for being part of that.
