COVID-19 Response – From Our Board President
My name is Donna Long, and I have the distinct pleasure and honor in serving as President of Tidewater Arts Outreach’s Board of Directors.
When the COVID-19 crisis first started, there was a very real concern that TAO’s arts outreach programs would need to cease. Uncertainty reigned.
But with your unflagging support, the creativity of our talented artists, and the innovation of our amazing facility partners, the healing power of the arts is triumphing over uncertainty.
Programs continue, delivered in outdoor spaces or virtually on mobile devices. Isolation has given way to even more creative arts engagement.
And you are making this possible!
We must continue to offer our programs, now more than ever. If you watch the “CBS Sunday Morning Show” like I do, last week’s segment emphasized the importance of mental and emotional care in concert with physical healthcare. We are still human and need interaction. If you have any ability to help continue these innovative programs in Hampton Roads, your community, please send a gift today. I did.
Your gift will be the rocket fuel behind these innovative program offerings, proving that social distancing does not have to mean isolation.
Loneliness and isolation cannot win if we stick together.
Thank you for your support. Let’s beat this.
With utmost gratitude,
Donna Long
