March 2017 Programs

Our March 2017 schedule of outreach programs is here.

March features  DANCE: Treasures in the Sand folkloric dancers, Kaliki’s Polynesian Dancers; MUSIC:  Leighas Celtic music ensemble, The Vocal Group Fond Memories, Angeli Strings Quartet, accordionists Sid Sward and Miles Hoyle, percussionists Gary ‘JuJu’ Garlic and Arthur Lopez, sax man Rod Collins and pianist Richard Tazewell; DRAMA:  actor Ryan Clemens and VISUAL ARTISTS Donna Iona Drozda, Amanda Wallace and Flo Wolin.  Thank you to each of these artists for living our mission of service through the arts.  The modest stipends we are able to provide means they contribute a good deal of themselves at each program.

We are working with vets in low-income housing, elders participating in the South Norfolk Community Center 55 and Better programs, VersAbility Resources, The Memory Center, Lake Taylor Hospital, PACE, the Hampton VA and assisted living and skilled nursing care settings.

The outcomes we try to achieve from these programs include:  Lessened anxiety, lessened agitation, lessened passivity, improved alertness, improved mood, mental stimulation, increased artistic skills and overall satisfaction.

We invite community dwelling elders, independently or with their care partners, and community volunteers to come to our outreach programs.  Email us at volunteers@TidewaterArtsOutreach.org, or call us at 757-965-5155 if you or someone you love is interested in attending a program or becoming involved.

You can donate to support our outreach here.  Thank you.
