House Concerts

Join us for a waterfront house concert with Urban Hill Blues Band on Saturday, June 3.

Urban Hill is a co-creation of contemporary blues guitarist and vocalist Paul Urban and the “real deal” blues guitarist and vocalist Lathan “Pudgee” Hill.  Urban Hill Blues Band specializes in roots rock, R&B, boogie, blues, original music and country.  They are currently working on their third album of original music.

Doors open at 4:30; the concert begins at 5.  Tickets are $50 per person and include plein air dinner, desserts, drinks and signature cocktails by two acclaimed bartenders.

…did we mention ‘signature cocktails’ at the waterfront bar?
Purchase tickets for our June 3 house concert by making a $50 per person donation here or using the button to the left.     Write ‘house concert’ in the memo line.  We will email you a payment confirmation and address.  All proceeds support Tidewater Arts Outreach programs.  This is guaranteed to be a great time!  See you on June 3.

More about house concerts.

RM House Concert

A house concert is a music event at someone’s home that features live music in a listening-room format. Folks are seated and attentive to the performance taking place. It’s a wonderful opportunity to really hear an artist’s words and focus on his or her musicianship.

House concerts are for music-lovers who want to enjoy the live music experience without distraction, ambient noise, TV, blenders or other interruption.

For Attendees

A wonderful way to enjoy great music in an intimate setting. We roll the living room furniture out and the folding chairs in.

Doors generally open one half hour before the concert begins.

Musicians play two sets with an intermission between.

Audience is typically seated, the room is quiet, and performers and their music get all the attention.

Snacks and beverages are typically included in the concert fee.

Proceeds benefit Tidewater Arts Outreach

You can purchase tickets to any TAO house concert online, through our Donations page.  Simply make a donation in the ticket amount (please click the button that adds a little extra payment to defray online service fees to TAO) and put “House Concert” with the concert date, in the memo field.  We’ll send you an email confirmation and you’ll be good to go.

For Hosts

House concerts and other special events make it possible to keep our office running. Staff and volunteers work every day to ensure we can offer the highest possible quality of programs and arts experiences for our special clients. Our work, the work of bringing music and arts to people who are isolated from society, is conducted out of sight of the mainstream community. Our fundraising events put a public face on our organization, and allow the community an opportunity to provide much-needed support. TAO is a young organization. The work we are doing is unique, and often challenging. We rely on the community’s support and goodwill to continue creating happiness and healing through the arts in Tidewater homes, hospitals and other dependent care settings. House concert hosts are friends who generously open their homes to a music event that provides needed support.

If you are interested in hosting a concert in your home, to support our work, we would like to hear from you.  Get more information here.
