Holiday Open House w/TAO at Victorian Station on 12/9

Tidewater Arts Outreach hosts a Holiday Open House at Victorian Station in Phoebus on Saturday, December 9 from noon to 4 pm.

We have presented Holiday Open Houses in several cities for many years, as a way of bringing their community of artists and supporters together.

As a child growing up with ten siblings, Christmas was a time of joy for me.  My dad’s company published little songbooks and supplied our church with them.  It made a life-long impression and I wish I had copies of that precious little booklet, complete with score and lyrics, now.

Instead, we’ve created our own, large-print songbook.  We’ve purchased dozens of sets of jingle bells.  And we’ve joyfully worked for 14 years to infuse the joy of the season wherever we can.

Victorian Station is a lovely old house in Phoebus (36 N. Mallory Street, Hampton).  The dark wood interior is a perfect backdrop for holiday lights and greenery.  We’re inviting children, elders and everyone in between to come and enjoy cocoa and cookies, holiday music, both live and recorded and a sing-along from 2-3 pm.  Local artists will assist visitors in making original greeting cards.  It will be a fun, engaging afternoon to celebrate the season; we look forward to greeting friends old and new.

Singing is a happy, healthy group activity for all ages.  You can read about its benefits here.  See you on the 9th!
