Our Lady of Perpetual Help Virginia Beach

Symphonicity is the symphony orchestra for the largest city in Virginia, the City of Virginia Beach. We are a proud member of the resident companies at the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts with more than 200 volunteer orchestra musicians and choristers who perform for the love of music each year. We offer five masterworks performances, multiple pops concerts, an annual sing-along of Handel's Messiah, an annual children's concert and dozens of small chamber performances throughout our community.

Violist Jena Chenkin is accomplished on both violin and viola and is a member of The Williamsburg Symphonia. She also teaches violin at the Academy of Music in Norfolk. A word from the Artist: My program is a guessing game, and I always have a theme. Some of my different themes are Food, name the State, name the Country, Love Songs, African American composers and singers, Patriotic Songs, plus more!

Once More Concert and Instruments of Art Auction

Hear the stories of four of Hampton Roads residents (and TAO program participants!) through the power of the region’s best singer-songwriters. Also, bid on one-of-a-kind “instruments turned into art” pieces made by TAO’s talented visual artists. All proceeds will support arts outreach programs for your neighbors in isolating circumstances. This is a virtual event. All ticket holders will be sent instructions for accessing the event the week of April 19, 2021. The Instruments of Art auction and the People’s Choice voting is free and open to the public.

Tidewater Bluegrass Revival is a 4 person band focusing on bluegrass music that will be sure to get feet moving and heads swaying. The group features a fiddle, guitar, mandolin and a bass. They love to include participation from the audience.

Bonney has been teaching yoga, meditation and mindfulness around the Hampton Roads area. Kam returned to Indoda Entsha and taught himself how to drum comfortably from his wheelchair, using this form of creative expression as a healing mechanism.

The Elderly Brothers present a barbershop quartet singing barbershop harmony music with some examples explaining what it is. Frequently, they have sing-alongs with the audience and (clean) jokes as part of their entertainment.
